Event element-count walks (SAS topo PHY, PCIe topo Port, IR config Element) never validated against the event frame length

Summary

The three event handlers walk u8-count element arrays (PHY/PortEntry/ConfigElement) with mpr_dispatch_event never checking EventDataLength/ReplyFrameSize against the counts, so counts beyond the actual frame read past the single reply frame into the reply_frames DMA pool (up to ~2KB). Dominant manifestation is silent garbage handles/reasons fed into the mapping engine; small read past the pool end when the frame sits near the end. Same malicious-IOC trust class, weaker impact. Clamp-to-frame-length fix.

Verdict

Low - PoC skipped per contract (hardware-gated logic/error-path classes). Source-certain; fixes authored; DF-3916/3917 also reported against FreeBSD head.
