Boot: legacy BIOS (no UEFI runtime) -> `kldload efirt` prints
      "module_register_init: MOD_LOAD (efirt, ...) error 6" but the co-packaged
      efidev module still registers and creates /dev/efi (mode 0700 root:wheel),
      so the pre-firmware kmalloc paths are reachable.

Module: /boot/kernel/efirt.ko (stock, contains both efirt + efidev modules)
Patched module (fix validation): built from /usr/src/sys/dev/misc/efirt after
      applying fix.diff, loaded as /root/efirt-patched.ko.
